Reagan

**UPDATE**
Whoops. I went to actually post something on my blog and noticed this post (from march 30 2022) saved as a draft. Ha. So it's a bit old but I'm going to post it anyway. I'll update soon...hopefully.

Reagan is 2 years old now. We had a little gathering of family on her birthday and she enjoyed having people her age over to play with.
She's 24lbs and about 34 inches...I believe (I'll have to double check that). She's not a huge talker, well, in words that the common person understands. She actually talks a lot and sings and dances. She LOVES trains(hoo-hoo) and horses (used to be called wee-who, but has now progressed to yee-haw). She's very sweet with her Sister and is a great helper. She has seen her dad give priesthood blessings and you'll find yourselves blessed by reagan if you're laying/sitting on the ground. Sometimes her stuffed animals are lucky enough to get blessed as well.
She loves nursery and loves playing with other kids. She likes to read and brings books to you for you to read. She loves all animals and being outside. We sure love her. Here are some pictures taken over the last little bit of Reagan.

London

So we had a rough beginning with London. She was very different than Reagan - and still is - in volume. Reagan was sleeping through the night at 3 months in her own room. London...well, she's still not sleeping through the night and I finally just moved her out of our room last week. For the first little while London would go from 0 to 10 in crying/screaming without warning. She's doing much better now and is a very happy baby. She's so easy to make smile and Larry, Reagan and I love her so much. What a great addition to our family.
So here are some pictures. I'll try to give you a quick idea of her growth over the past 3-ish months. She's a lot bigger than Reagan was. She weighs 19.9 oz (Reagan weighs 24lbs), is tall, and she and Reagan wear the same size diaper. Ha. It's good fun.

UPDATE

Life is busy. It's a lot busier with 2 kids than it was just with Reagan. So, I'm finally getting around to it and I'm going to update you on our family and our growth. It might take a few posts to do so since it's been so long, but I'll get there.
I'll start with, the most recent.
Tonight our family went bowling. I didn't realize that it was the hang out for all the Jr. High kids, but I felt extra cool hanging out there. Actually, that's a lie. I just felt old. Old but kinda glad I wasn't a 13 year old again.
It was Reagan's first time bowling and she had a blast. We went a bit late so by the 2nd game she was ready to go to bed, but she was a trooper. In fact, she beat my score. Everyone did. I guess bowling is not my sport. Ha.
London was a trooper as well. She just sat in her carseat quiet and when they turned on the black light she watched with eager eyes. Both London and Reagan have been really sick for a week. They caught some sort of virus which gave them high fevors that wouldn't quit and a horrible cough and runny nose. Then to poor salt in the wounds, London's cutting her first tooth and Reagan got an ear infection. Sad day. Today was the first day that Reagan felt like going outside and actually moving around. It was fun.
Here are some pictures from tonight. Oh, and there really isn't a lot because I realized too late that I took my memory card out of my camera and only had a tiny bit of space on my internal memory.

London doesn't feel so well.

Testing the camera

Here's a test of my camera. London was talking a whole bunch, and then of course when i get the camera out she stops. She looks a little different too. Kinda funny how the camera can do that. Oh well.

Merry Christmas

Today Reagan and I went with her aunt Beckie and cousin Courtney to the Tooele Christmas parade. It lasted all, of about, 10-15 minutes but it was fun. We saw santa on a fire engine and Reagan got excited AFTER he left. She's been saying "Ho! Ho! Ho!" since she got home. Here are some pictures from it.

"HO! HO! HO!"

Speaking of pictures, I opened my Christmas present today - A NEW CAMERA!!! YAY! Larry did a great job picking it out and since there are so many things to take pictures of, I agreed to open it early.

had to laugh

So Reagan wated her nails painted and brought the polish to Larry. So he decided to paint her nails. It was...sweet. But i don't think he'll be going into buisness any time soon. (sorry about the crappy quality of the pictures. My camera stinks.)

LONDON ELISE THORPE

Finally here i go. My camera is out of batteries and the batteries are packed away somewhere, so i only have older pictures. when we get settled in the new place and i find the batteries i'll get updated pictures up.

London was born August 23rd at 9:30am. I was at Home Depot the night before with Larry getting stuff for our sink that we were installing. The whole day I had been doing squats and anything I could think of to get this baby going because not only was i ready to have her, but I was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday which i didn't want to do. So, while we were at Home Depot a guy from our ward was there looking for some help in which Larry new what he needed. So i decided to take Reagan and walk around while larry was helping the guy out. While i was walking (mind you, no contractions thus far) i felt a gush of water between my legs. The more i walked the more it came out. It stopped for a minute and i thought i had wet myself. but as i continued to walk around in a bit more of a rush to find larry more water kept coming. Luckily i was wearing a skirt and my tighter garments so it didn't look like i wet my pants. that would have been awkward. So i found larry and before i even made it to him, and in front of the home depot workers and our friend, i told larry we had to go. now. he asked why and i told him my water broke. so, we went home and i called the hospital and they told me to come in to check me. larry had an appointment with a family in our ward so he went there for about an hour while i fed reagan and got her ready to go to her aunt beckie's house. i wasn't having contractions and i had a feeling that once i got to the hospital they weren't going to let me go back home so i told larry to take his time cause i didn't want to be stuck in the hospital.

Well, when i got there my doctor happened to be on call and came and checked me out. I was only dilated to a 2 and the baby was high so he talked to be about an induction. Urg. That's what i was trying to avoid. While going over all the pros and cons of different medicine and induction Larry noticed that I had a little contraction. So the doctor let us wait it out for a while to see if things would progress on there own. They went pretty slow and for about a 1/2 hour i had to be put on pitocin because my blood pressure was really low and it was affecting the baby. when things started to progress again the doctor took me off of it and let everything happen naturally the rest of the time. Im' grateful for that.

I ended up getting an epidural during the night which didn't work. My legs were really numb but i could feel all the contractions. That was absolutely miserable cause I couldn't move to help with the contractions. So then the guy came in later to adjust it and my epidural didn't wear off until about 6 that evening. Miserable. Miserable.

London was born 20", 7lbs 7oz. She was really healthy and still is. She's growing into a little chunk and a lot taller than Reagan was. She' s smiling so much now and talking which makes it so much fun. If i have a hard time getting her to smile or if she's grumpy, I can have Reagan come over and talk to her and London will just watch her, smile, and talk back. It's so stinkin cute. I'll have to get it on video sometime.

London's a lot different than Reagan was. A lot louder, but she's fun. Anyway. That's the story. Sorry so long.

She kept pulling her beanie over her eyes.

...we've had
6 cars
6 dogs
2 children
and 2 homes.

yep. we're moving!!! It's actually a trailor, but it's on more land, it's 4 bedroom and 2bathrooms, it's up the street from us in our desired area, and about double the size of our house now. We've been cleaning it the past couple days and still have a bit of cleaning to do left, but we closed yesterday and got the keys! yay! Reagan was running around going crazy. She didn't know what to do with all the space. I'm so excited for her to have room.
I haven't taken pictures of the inside yet, but i'll try and do that today. I have some pictures of the outside, but I'm afraid to show them cause it's a bit scary. It's a fixer-upper, but in the end it'll be worth it and our family can grow in it. Eventually the plan is to build a house on the land. So, we'll be patient and live here for a while and be happy. Yee-haw.

It's about time!

For the sake of living on the edge larry and I decided we would wait a bit over a day from my due date to figure out our unborn child's name.

Yeah right.

We thought we knew she'd be named Elise but then we changed our minds again and again and again. So tonight I told larry he couldn't take a nap (he was really tired) until we nailed down a name. So...
London Elise Thorpe
That's the winner. Now all she has to do is be born. Somebody mind explaining that to her?

I'm having a what??

So, Monday night I had a very interesting dream. I was at an appointment-ish thing with a Health nut/work out guy. Why i wasn't seeing a doctor, who knows. But he continued to tell me that I was pregnant, but was having a guinea pig. Huh? yeah. ... So as time went on I started to become more and more confused. I asked him how, with Larry and I both being human, can we have a guinea pig? He explained it to me. I wish I remembered what his explanation was, but I don't. All i remember is being satisfied with his answer for just a minute and then going back to confusion. I soon started to face the facts that I was indeed having a guinea pig, and I remember wondering what color fur he would have and what not. Soon the guy came back and told me I wasn't having a guinea pig but I was having a midget! He told me that to make the news a bit easier to take he made up the guinea pig part so a midget wouldn't seem so bad. Ha. Weird.

New Bed

A lady our ward called Larry and asked if we wanted a toddler bed. We had been looking for one for a while but hadn't decided on one. Lar said sure and we picked it up yesterday - mattress and all. Reagan loved it and surprisingly slept in it the whole night hardly moving at all. I thought she would fall out because she's quite the mover but she stayed with her head on one side the whole time. Then when i woke up and looked at the monitor, she was just laying there awake. She didn't even get out of bed! Hopefully it stays like that.

10 days to go!

So obviously i suck at taking pictures and can't even get myself centered. but to my defense, i am taking a picture on the phone and it's really hard to press the button with one hand. oh well, at least you can see my big belly...40lbs later. Ha! I just keep putting em on. There's no stopping me!!! Mua-ha ha!!

And just because, here's reagan wishing ya'll a merry chirstmas a bit early. She likes bubbles. I don't know what her facial expression is all about. Ha.

Seriously???

oh my goodness.

So i had a big slap in the face on Sunday. How did i not realize i was so close to my due date?!! I kept thinking I had almost a month. I think my "logic" was that it was the beginning of August and my due date was the end of August. Well, time sure crept up on my fast. I have, now, less than 2 weeks until my due date. AND if this birth is anything like Reagan, she came almost a week early. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT MEANS??!!! I can be going into labor in a week!!!! Yikes. So, yesterday - realizing that I'm not close to being ready - was spent organizing, packing and washing. Still more to finish today. Then I kept having dreams that I was having contractions. There was a few times I woke up in pain but I don't know if it was the stress of my dreams or just serious Braxton Hicks contractions. My goodness. Wish me luck.

what a girl

Seriously. Where does she get it from?

I got Reagan up from her nap yesterday and while I was walking around picking stuff up around the house she came out of the bathroom and into the bedroom where I was looking like this. She had gotten into my drawers in my bathroom and decked herself all out. She's so funny. Later on she grabbed a "phone" (an air conditioning remote) and walked around talking on it while holding her blanket. She usually uses my sponge curlers for her bracelets but today here she opted for the rubberband look. What a fashionista.

So last night I finally got her some real dress up bracelets and necklace. She's so cute.

And yes i need a new camera. I take all my pictures on my phone and when the blasted thing finally focuses (which is not always) she has looked away. Thus none of her pictures are her smiling or really looking happy. Sigh. Someday.

Nursery

So Reagan isn't yet 18 months (will be August 12th) but because i'm due on the 22nd I didn't want to deal with the nursery transition with a newborn if it was going to be bad. So i talked to the Primary Pres and asked if i could give it a trial run to see how Reagan does. She said that would be great. She also asked Reagan if she wanted to just go to primary and skip nursery because as we were speaking Reagan went, found a chair and sat down next to some "friends". Reagan said yes, but i figured we should still start with nursery anyway.
On to nursery we went and when i stepped in the door to talk to the nursery leader and ask her, Reagan went straight for the toys and didn't look back. I told the nursery lady that i could help out in nursery or even just come back in, like 10-20 minutes and she said if she needed me she'd come get me, but to leave Reagan there. Reagan did great! I spied through the window and she was playing with toys and the kids without any problems. I came back to see if i needed to get her after Sunday school and she didn't even look up at me. She was too busy playing and having a good ol time. So, i left her. When it was time to go home she didn't want to leave. How awesome is that!! Hopefully it stays that way.
Here are some pictures from when we got home. The only way i could get her to stay still was with a dounut hole and Shawn the Sheep, thus she's not really looking at the camera.

Look what she colored in nursery! Can you believe it? ... me neither. But it sure looks like she wrote her name. Ha.

Cheese! Show me your teeth!
