Finally here i go. My camera is out of batteries and the batteries are packed away somewhere, so i only have older pictures. when we get settled in the new place and i find the batteries i'll get updated pictures up.
London was born August 23rd at 9:30am. I was at Home Depot the night before with Larry getting stuff for our sink that we were installing. The whole day I had been doing squats and anything I could think of to get this baby going because not only was i ready to have her, but I was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday which i didn't want to do. So, while we were at Home Depot a guy from our ward was there looking for some help in which Larry new what he needed. So i decided to take Reagan and walk around while larry was helping the guy out. While i was walking (mind you, no contractions thus far) i felt a gush of water between my legs. The more i walked the more it came out. It stopped for a minute and i thought i had wet myself. but as i continued to walk around in a bit more of a rush to find larry more water kept coming. Luckily i was wearing a skirt and my tighter garments so it didn't look like i wet my pants. that would have been awkward. So i found larry and before i even made it to him, and in front of the home depot workers and our friend, i told larry we had to go. now. he asked why and i told him my water broke. so, we went home and i called the hospital and they told me to come in to check me. larry had an appointment with a family in our ward so he went there for about an hour while i fed reagan and got her ready to go to her aunt beckie's house. i wasn't having contractions and i had a feeling that once i got to the hospital they weren't going to let me go back home so i told larry to take his time cause i didn't want to be stuck in the hospital.
Well, when i got there my doctor happened to be on call and came and checked me out. I was only dilated to a 2 and the baby was high so he talked to be about an induction. Urg. That's what i was trying to avoid. While going over all the pros and cons of different medicine and induction Larry noticed that I had a little contraction. So the doctor let us wait it out for a while to see if things would progress on there own. They went pretty slow and for about a 1/2 hour i had to be put on pitocin because my blood pressure was really low and it was affecting the baby. when things started to progress again the doctor took me off of it and let everything happen naturally the rest of the time. Im' grateful for that.
I ended up getting an epidural during the night which didn't work. My legs were really numb but i could feel all the contractions. That was absolutely miserable cause I couldn't move to help with the contractions. So then the guy came in later to adjust it and my epidural didn't wear off until about 6 that evening. Miserable. Miserable.
London was born 20", 7lbs 7oz. She was really healthy and still is. She's growing into a little chunk and a lot taller than Reagan was. She' s smiling so much now and talking which makes it so much fun. If i have a hard time getting her to smile or if she's grumpy, I can have Reagan come over and talk to her and London will just watch her, smile, and talk back. It's so stinkin cute. I'll have to get it on video sometime.
London's a lot different than Reagan was. A lot louder, but she's fun. Anyway. That's the story. Sorry so long.
