2 weeks left...technically

So today was our last day of school with the kids. Tomorrow's is the teacher's and para's. My last day of work is going to be the 15th of January which really is only 2 weeks when we all get back from Christmas break. Crazy to think about, but i'm pretty excited for a new adventure. I'm taking off earlier because I can't really do all the things my job requires - like lifting kids that can't walk or running after "runners". So, i'll have a bit of time to do things. So, any ideas? Crafts? New hobbies? Let me know what y'all think.

ok. Now to clear up the Pine Canyon thing. If you send me a letter with a city addressed to Pine Canyon, Tooele, or Lincoln I'll receive it. Pine canyon is like Lujan to Elk Grove. Or better yet - Elk Grove to where the Janssons live. It's pretty much the same place, but a bit more out there and rural. Pine Canyon is a bit separated from the subdivisions as we're at the base of the mountain. It was one of the first places established around here and it's name has changed a bit from what i understand. Because it's an older place there tends to be older people around and they live a bit of a simpler and down to earth life. Thus cooking with deer meat and all. My neighbor just slaughtered one of her cows and so i think i'm gonna get some of her meat. All natural (said like off of Wedding Planner). It's a lot of good fun.

So too much has happened in the last 2 months for me to try and update at the moment. So, I'll try and get back to the computer soon.
Larry and I went back last month for my regular checkup and our doctor kindly did a free quick ultra sound to check the baby's sex again. So, it's definitely, maybe a girl. I'll try and get the pictures on here. She's pretty sure it's a girl, and the other ultrasound tech said she's pretty sure. So, we're taking both those "pretty sure"s and combining it to make a positive. Her name is Reagan Elizabeth Thorpe. I'm getting nervous as the time draws closer because i totally don't feel prepared at all, but it'll be all good, right???
So on a different note - i am officially a resident of Pine Canyon Utah. Last night for dinner i made spaghetti! I know, "Why does that make you a resident of PC?" you ask. Well, I've made spaghetti many times but this time i made it with DEER MEAT! One of Larry's friend gave us some deer meat from this last hunt. I'm grateful for the meat despite my newness to it. It tasted a bit different, but not too bad.
Well I'll try to update soon. It's time to get ready for our ward Christmas party -where 3 of my piano students are performing.

We're having a...

Well, who knows really. But it seems like we're having a very modest girl. She had her legs closed the whole time during the ultrasound Thursday Sept 24th. Hopefully that's a bit of a premonition to how she'll be when she's older. Keep it up Regan...or maybe different spelling. We're decided on the name but not quite sure on the spelling or middle name. We have time, though, right? Suggestions on either are welcome, though. So, here's our daughter's first picture. Hopefully you can see something in it. Good luck.

So i know it's not quite fall yet, but with todays weather i can't help getting excited for it. It's overcast and sprinkiling here and there and i love it!!! I'm ready for the wonderful holiday season coming up.

So, this last weekend Larry and I went up to Beckie's(his sister) in-law's cabin up past park city in a town called Kamas . It was absolutely beautiful! We went up in the Uintas and went to Mirror lake and walked around it. It was so nice to get out and smell fresh air. I was feeling a bit sick that day so if in the pictures i look off- that's why. We had a great time and enjoyed being away from the craziness of life.

Also!! This month, on the 24th, we finally get our ultrasound. I feel like i've been pregnant forever with no changes. Finally there'll be something new and i can start planning a bit more for the baby.

update on previous comments...

Ha! well, as for the oquirrh HILL - that's where i work: Oquirrh Hill Preschool. I didn't even notice it. Woops. And about the font, i was in the middle of making the rest of the changes and the computer froze and i had to shut it down. So, hopefully ya'll will be able to read it and re-read it as much as you want. Oh, and i don't have a picture yet, but i'll get one soon.

This past week...or more

So, for all those sitting on the edge of there seats in anticipation...I cut my hair. Last Saturday I went to Ogden to see Whitney (the chick that cuts my hair) and visit with Sister Tana Hall. I can't remember her real last name now. whoops. My hair doesn't quite look like how i wanted it, but it works and only takes me a minute to do. Quite nice.

Also that last Saturday Larry finished putting in our new sprinkler system in the front yard. It's really nice and makes it easy to water our lawn. I'm excited to landscape someday. Next we're going to put in sprinklers in the backyard so we can plant some sod. Eventually we want to be able to use our backyard and have our children play on grass - rather than horrible weeds that i won't even go out in. I don't know how i did it when i was younger. I remember going out with my sisters BAREFOOT and playing in our backyard full of weeds. I guess i was a lot tougher then. ~ But, Larry did a great job digging the trenches by hand, pulling out more tree root and laying it all down.

Last Sunday we didn't have church meetings because instead they had a temple dedication broadcast for the Oquirrh Hill temple. So, after the first session Larry, his parents and i went to some old mining towns and were able to see the old mine shafts. On the way there I saw my first Mormon Cricket. Quite a nasty big bugger. In Eureka we saw one of Porter Rockwell's homes that had been relocated there. But i guess he had quite a bit of homes that he would travel to in the area. It was lots of fun until on the way home i got really sick. I almost made it home but instead in front of our local golf course we had to pull over so i could...well, get rid of my food. I bet the golfers all thought that was really fun to watch. Oh well.

I NEED HELP!

I don't have the energy to do my unmanagble hair anymore. They say that the second trimester is better than the first, but all i know is that for the past 3 months i haven't wanted to do my hair. Possibly because it's not a good cut. So, i have an appointment to get my hair cut. Short, long, i don't care. I just need something i can take care of. I can't find any pictures with me when i chopped my hair off last time, but it was easy to do some i'm considering it again. So, here's where you come in. What kind of hair style should i get??? Please help. Here's a pic of how i got it cut last time (the brown one), and then there's even a shorter version as an option. Hmm...maybe too short. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Oh my crazy dreams

So, since I've been pregnant i've had some weird dreams. It seems more difficult to sleep and when i do i dream of the most random stuff. So last night i had a dream that i was over at grandma seavers house (which really wasn't her house by the way) and all the family was there. Dad and i were talking about the commercialism of Christmas in the car on the way there while looking at all the decorations. Well, we get there and at first it's just dad, grandma and i but then soon enough all the family shows up. I've realized that i've done most of the christmas shopping but haven't completed it and haven't even wrapped all the gifts as mom was bringing them out. STRESSFUL!!! Then i realized i hadn't even gotten larry a present yet. I got mom a wallace and gromit calendar which brent thought was his, got brent something retarded (which i can't remember), and didn't even get my husband anything. my goodness i was stressed. Well, soon enough i started to listen to the music in the backround and it was "Good Kind Wenceslas" and i got so home sick. I was at home, but at the same time i just had the yearning to be home for christmas. In the process of trying to wake up, still feeling stressed about getting my christmas shopping done, I started looking at my calendar trying to figure out when i could come home for christmas. My goodness. I think I need more sleep.
So, now that I'm in the Christmas mood and I have been having a Disneyland craving so bad i can't stand it, I thought I'd change my music to some fun mix of festive music. Enjoy.
Oh, and emily, this is for you. Hopefully by Christmas I can learn the dance!

Danica Shay Pearson

While i was at the Derby Saturday night my ma called me to let me know that emily was at the hospital in labor! She had a beautiful baby girl on Sunday morning at 12:30am and all was successful. She was 6lb7oz and 19" long(if i'm wrong on that info, em, let me know!). Larry and I went down to Spanish Fork sunday morning and after church was over Marie, Brent, Larry and I went to visit her in a hospital in Orem. She had quite the nice set up. She had a huge room all to herself with nice chairs and a convertable couch bed for Tyler. It was really quiet. I didn't even see one other patient there. Crazy. She looks wonderful and her baby is so tiny and cute. Tyler is going to be a great dad. He's already changing diapers and seems to have things down.

Fun filled day

On Saturday Larry and I had a great day. About 5 minutes away or so is a canyon (which name has slipped my mind) that we went up and had lunch. We parked the car and then went walking a bit and it was so beautiful. I'm so lucky to live close to such beautiful things. It was really nice.

Later that evening we went to Tooele County's demolition derby - MY FIRST! It was so much fun! *Notice in the second picture there is a "really cool, hot" chick on the back of a tow truck! How cool white trash is that!*

After all the rounds they had a VW bug made up to look like a brain brought out. It was sponserd by the "Most Don't" campaign all about not drinking alchohol. So, then they brought out some cars - Vadca, Whiskey, Rum, ect... So, i hope you learn by this lesson not to drink alchohol cause this is what will happen to your brain.

Besides getting really sick towards the end because i didn't eat soon enough, I had a wonderful day!

Update

This is going to have to be a seriously quick update on a lot of stuff seeing as i haven't posted anything for quite a while AND life actually has gone on with me and Larry. So...here I go.

Well first off, I'M PREGNANT!! It's really true. Yesterday I had a dr's appointment for the first time since i've been pregnant and Larry and I got to hear the heart beat. Oh my heavens. It was so crazy. They were going to do an ultra sound but since larry and i are paying out of pocket we asked if she could just do the sonogram. No prob. So she starts off saying that there's a 50/50 chance that we will hear the heart beat. After what seemed like a decade of looking, she found MY heart beat. So, no worries folks. I am alive. Then after searching for a few more seconds, i heard it. This much faster fluttery, wave sound that was my child. Crazy. I've known i've been prego for quite some time but hearing the heartbeat made it real. What a cool thing to experience and I'm glad Larry was there with me to share in that experience. So, aside from being sick most of the time and not eating or doing much because of it, i am happy. I'm so happy to be apart of this wonderful experience and miracle.

Now, going back... A couple of weeks ago Larry's family got together to play softball for FHE. I wish i was feeling better so i could have played, but it was fun watching them all have fun despite the injuries that were attained.

July 4th was a lot of fun. We had Brent, Marie and kids over to play along with some of Larry's family. We did a BBQ, played Rockband, and lit some of Brent's fireworks and some of the fireworks that Beckie's family brought over. It was good spending time with the family.

Before all of this, in May i went home to CA to visit family, witness Kalla's baptism(whom i'm so proud of!!), go to emily's baby shower and go to my cousin Katie's wedding. I also got to go to my rockin uncle and aunt's house, Brad and April, and visit with my grandma (and see his backyard. so cool!) . Twas lots of fun seeing everyone.

Before all of that Larry changed our broken sink faucet and a bit later we painted our bathroom. I'll have to take pictures of that some time.
Life is good. I'll do better about updating the blog more oft.

Oops. It's been a while.

So, not much has happened in the past little bit, but at the same time, much has. Most recently has been our garden. Larry and his brother in law Andy started to build our Jurassic Park style garden fence yesterday. It has to be huge to keep out all the critters. I'm so excited to have it finished and start planting in it. It'll be so nice to have a garden of my own. (More pictures to come!)

My parents came down...or...over to visit during Spring Break and it was so much fun having them here. I don't have the pictures but when i get them i shall post them. We went 4 wheeling, shot shotguns( mom actually shot a shot gun at some pigeons. it was awesome!), and we just hung out. It was nice having them here. This is the only picture i have and it's of Jordan shoving grapes in his mouth.

The next thing that has changed is we got a new fridge. Well, not NEW, but new to us and in really good shape. The original plan was to get a freezer so that we can store extra food when it goes on sale. Well, we found a fridge for around the same price as a freezer so we opted for that so we could have a water dispenser - filtered water. it's been really nice.

That's about all that's been going on in life. We've been trying to get our food storage where it's supposed to be and working on a garden. Life is good.
