why didn't we do this 2 1/2 years ago?

So it all started when Larry wanted a double sink. I said it might not be a good idea because that meant even more counter space taken away, which we already lack. Well, that lead us looking on ksl at over the range microwaves. Quite expensive...except one. There was a black one in perfect working condition but the lady was redecorating her kitchen and so wanted to get rid of it along with her other appliances. Well, it was the last appliance they had to sell so the lady sold it to us for... (drum roll please)...20 dollars! Quite a deal. Larry and his dad went and took a look at it and everything was as the chick said. Sweet deal. Larry and I had looked at a cabinet to go over the microwave but they were out of our price range so we decided to wait and keep our eyes out for good deals. We did keep or eyes out but didn't wait long cause Larry decided to check out Lowes after he picked up the microwave and found a good deal. The cabinet is not stained but we'll either do that or paint it down the road.
Anyway here are the pictures. Enjoy.

We'll someday get another cabinet to go on the left side of the microwave, but that WILL be down the road.

Calling all recipes!!

Does anyone else feel like they' re fixing the same dinners over and over again? I'm in the mood for something good but yet in my skill range. What are some meals you enjoy eating and/or cooking? You can include sides if you so wish. Share your recipes with me PLEASE!

Day 3 or 4 or.. I don't know

Ok. So here is the finished project. Larry worked so hard and I think it turned out so good! So, before you get to feast your eyes upon the new floor unless you scroll ahead and look - cheater) let's take a look back at the floor that was so difficult to part with. (Could you hear the sarcasm? I was trying to lay it on thick)






Now, with this view why wouldn't you want to but our house!? Ok, so don't start really listing off the reasons. Just enjoy the view!

We' re so close and I can't wait to get our house in order. Larry has done a really good job on the floor. We like it so much, we might not want to leave. We' re hopefully gonna finish everything tomorrow. More pictures to come.

Day...or rather, Evening 1

After comptemplating much and getting some outside opinion from my family, Larry and I decided to FINALLY replace our carpet in the kitchen with Laminate flooring. We started today and it has been a process. Not because it's really that hard to put down, but because our house is loppy and our floor is wavy. So, we had to figure out some way to fix that. So far I think it looks really good and I'm excited to see the final product. More pictures to come, but here's a sneek peak.




Anybody want to look at our beautiful house and buy it?? Hmmm....
