Fun events

This morning when i was changing Reagan's diaper after she woke up, she decided to play with her blanket a bit.

Yesterday after i changed Reagan's diaper i was talking to her on the ground. She had been trying to roll over and getting pretty close, but yesterday SHE DID IT!!!! I screamed really loud in excitement. Apparently too loud cause she started to cry. Ha. It was pretty funny. Hopefully i didn't make it such a bad experience for her that she's now afraid to do it again. We'll see.

So, the Friday before last i went to the Hoggle Zoo with Beckie, Courtney, Nikki, her kids and Linda. It was pretty cold, overcast, and rained a little, but it was a blast. I love the zoo and it makes me wish i would have stuck to wildlife biology as my major in college...and finished it! It's a really nice zoo and i'm excited to take Reagan there when she's older and actually knows what's going on. Before leaving the zoo we went to the gift shop where they had a lot of fun decorations. Well, i decided then that i should do Reagan's room jungle instead of surfer-ish girl theme. Money's tight, as always, and i figured i already had a bunch of stuff that i got from home where i could do her room for cheap. So i got out my stuffed animals, paper, and bought some paper grocery bags from the store for 90 cents and went to work. It's still in the making, but for only spending a couple bucks total (i had to buy more white paint) i think it is turning out pretty good. I'll take pictures and post them when it's finished.

Well here are some pictures from the zoo (i'm gonna try to get more from the other's i went with) and some other random pictures.

I know you can't tell, but we're looking at the penguins.
Diaper changing station - in Nikki's wagon.
There's a playground to play at and there are also prairie dogs that you can look at. She was watching them at one time.

In the front of the zoo there was this huge wooden elephant that every once in a while would make a sound and squirt water from it's trunk. Well, Reagan didn't like the sound it made when squirting water so much. Kinda funny.

Sick and Wrong!!

So when i got Reagan out of her crib this morning she had had a bit of a blow out. No problem. I've dealt with quite a few already so nothing too new. So i lay her on the blanket that she had slept in and began to change her diaper. It had gone up her back a little so i cleaned it off with wipes. Before putting her new diaper on i folded the blanket so she was laying on everything clean. (I didn't see any mess on the blanket, but wanted to make sure). So, i had to pee really bad so i left her on her blanket in just a diaper. After going pee i went to get a onesie on her and feed her so i put her on my lap while she's sucking on her fingers. When i go to put her hand through the hole i have to take it out of her mouth and guess what i saw!!?!! POOP!!! THERE WAS A GLOB OF POOP ON HER HAND! Sick. Sick. Sick. I grabbed a wipe and cleaned both of her hands really well. How did it get there? Did she eat some poop and just suck of the evidence?? All i know is that i wanted to throw up a little. Nasty.

Well, Reagan is growing up fast. She's been playing with her hands and legs a bunch and of course loves her fingers. We took her to the doctors cause she was sick and she's now 14.5oz and 25 inches long! She's still in the 80% of her weight, but now in the 90%of her height. Larry thinks she's gonna be a giant. Hmmm... She's still lots of fun and smiles so much. She tries to push herself on her side with her feet. She'll be in one position on her play mat and when i look at her next she'll be flipped 180 degrees or will push herself off the mat. Crazy girl. She loves her fingers. Tummy time! Getting ready to go on a walk and not get sunburned.

Larry turned 24!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARRY!!!

Wow. So now with Larry being the big 24 it's almost like we're only 3 years apart. Too bad i turn 28!!! this year. Yikes.

So, this year for Larry's birthday I had a lot of fun. I'm not sure if he did, but that's not really the point, right? Just kidding. So with a lot of help from Marie I did a scavenger hunt for Larry. One of his gifts was a trip to the aquarium so i did a pirate/beach theme. After he got done with work there was his first clue. He had some struggles along the way, but he eventually found all of his gifts. He got movie tickets, tickets to the aquarium, and a trip to his favorite restaurant, Rodizo grill. Yumm... We weren't able to do any of that on his birthday but on saturday we went to Rodizo grill with his parents and someday will do the others. I also made him a cup with candy in it full of "sweet thoughts". It was candy with compliments and "sweet thoughts" wrapped around the candy bars. Good fun.

On Sunday his family came over for cake and ice cream. I made him a pail of sand cake on his birthday (keeping with the beach theme) and a sand castle cake for his family. The sand castle cake sure didn't turn out how it was supposed to. The circles were not the right size and the middle cake fell apart. It was a pain to frost and as you can see in the picture, i couldn't cover it up as well. Towards the end of making it i just got frustrated and finished it really fast. Not my best cake, but at least it tasted good. So i took a picture of the cake after Larry had moved it a little. So it looks like there's cat poop in it, but originally it was all covered and looked like sand.

Projects

I am no Martha Stewart, that's for sure. But sometimes i like to pretend that i can be a little crafty. It's really to save money, but it's fun in the process. I guess the more i do it the better i'll get. I hope, anyway.

Well, I'm trying to be more organized. TRYING is the key word. So, i decided to make a menu calendar - Something that i can write and rewrite what i'm gonna cook for dinner and a place where i can put things i need to buy at the store. I got the frame at DI for a buck and used what i had around the house. I'm not a huge fan of how it turned out, but i think i'll give it a little bit and maybe do it over. We'll see.

Another project is a vase that i made for Reagan's room. It started out as a small glass vase found in the dollar section of target, but i wanted something a bit more beachy/luau/Hawaiian/surfer chick-ish. If you can't tell, i'm not sure exactly what her room is but i'm figuring it out. Any ideas would be welcome. Here's some pictures of random things in her room. Yikes. I just threw the flowers in there. It's not totally finished, but you get the idea.

Another thing that i'm really excited about is refinishing Larry's mom's old picnic table. She has had it for a long time and when she heard that i wanted seating for my backyard she said i could have it. It needs a lot of work, but i'm excited for the end result. It's sitting on the cement slab that our "shed" used to be on. We knocked it down finally. This is a picture from my kitchen window so you can kinda see where things are situated. This is a before and this is it in the process of being "after".

A project that Larry did was put a sprinkling system in the backyard. He did this all while i was in cali as a surprise and was going to put sod down, but the sod hasn't quite worked out yet. Soon, though, and i'm so excited to have a backyard!! So here's a before and when we finish it i'll put up an "after" pic. I'm so stinkin excited!

California Trip

So, like i said. I went to California. Sunny Cali, except that it rained most of the time i was there. It's alright, though. I still got to see family and friends. It was a good trip. While we were there we went to the Jelly Belly factory. It was pretty fun taking the tour. We went with Anna's girls, Marie, her kids, her niece, Lynda(Marie's mom), Keiran(i'm not sure how to spell his name), Laura's youngest, and me, my mom and Reagan of course. We were all told that we had to wear hats during the tour so even Reagan got a hat. She did such a good job. This is Keiran wearing Larry's sunglasses on the way to the Jelly Belly Factory.Reagan talking while waiting for the tour to start. The kids were in a photo booth while waiting for the tour. Apparently Ronald Reagan quit smoking with the help of these jelly beans. He had them in all of his meetings. so, the picture behind us is all made out of jelly bellies.

Outside of the factory. My was it windy.

Laura's kids were over so we went outside to play and fly kites since it was windy windy!. It was a lot of fun.

Jennifer (my friend who's withering away) and her mom came over for dinner while we were there. Reagan wasn't very happy, but it was a lot of fun seeing them.

OH! I almost forgot. While we were there we found out that Jane is allergic to cats! I don't think she wants to rub her face in their fur anytime soon.

I wish Nevada wasn't in the way cause it would be a lot easier(and cheaper) to come home more often. It was a lot of fun and a good trip.
